Why Do People Say That Once an Alcoholic Always an Alcoholic?
Question by Rev Run: Why do people say that once an alcoholic always an alcoholic?
So even if a person never has another drink they will always be an alcoholic? I don’t get it. How can a person be cured and still have the disease for the rest of their lives? I never hear people say once depressed always depressed or once with the flu always with the flu.

Is There Such a Thing as Semi-Assisted Living for Younger Adults in Wheelchairs?
Question by Kris: Is there such a thing as semi-assisted living for younger adults in wheelchairs?
Hi everyone. I’m searching for some sort of semi-assisted living. I can usually function okay although I’m stuck in this dang wheelchair. Well, actually the “dang” chair is the thing that keeps me mostly independent. My issue is that I still think I depend on my family (parents) too much. My other issue is that I don’t need full time care, nor do I want to be put in a “retirement facility”. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks for the Cheshire Homes info! I googled them, & found the info to be very helpful. 🙂

Why Would Any Sane Individual Agree to 3 Strike Laws When It Comes to Addicts and Drugs?
Question by Joe B: Why would any sane individual agree to 3 strike laws when it comes to addicts and drugs?
Is that the same thing as giving a obese individual 3 strikes to lose weight, on the 3rd strike if they remain fat they go to prison for 10+ years while the taxpayers float the bill?
The point here is that addiction is very hard to overcome despite the label being put on it. Applying 3 strikes on something that is so hard to over come (given the courts do not focus on rehabilitation anymore) seems ignorant to the fact that addiction can’t just end on a whim.

Except it’s not illegal to be fat or even morbidly obese. If you break the law, you go to jail. If you repeatedly break the law, you go to jail for a long time. No sympathy for the devil. Buy the ticket, take the ride.
