Question by rami: condolences for a dog?
just got an email from a friend saying that his dog died.
what should I write back. “Sorry” might sound callous. “My condolences” doesn’t sound appropriate for a person.

There are some really appropriate cards available in card shops, and also online for people who have lost their pets. The grief is every bit as real and justified as those who have experienced losses of friends and family.
