Carlos Marin – Overcoming Grief by Cecy Marin – carlosmarin.com Hi I’m Cecy Marin, And first of all I thank every one of you for your support in this difficult time in my life and for all your prayers on behalf of my amazing dad, Emilio. I thought I was prepared for his passing since he was 93 years old and very sick but what I didn’t realize was how fearful I was of losing him and I wasn’t expecting to feel so much grief. But, now I know in my heart that he is at peace. You see, when difficult situations that we have no control over arise; we actually have the opportunity to learn and grow from them. The truth is that the only thing we have control over is “the meaning we give to the things that happen in our lives.” And if we choose to, that meaning can serve us and help us rise to a much higher place. When someone you love moves on to another realm, if you are a person of faith you understand that they are in a better place. They are with God or Infinite Spirit or whatever you choose to call it in your faith. The bottom line is they are in a higher more enlightened space so the reality is we grieve for ourselves. Yes, we will miss them, we won’t physically see them any more but if you have faith you know they are always with us and live in our hearts for eternity. So really it is a time to rejoice for them because they have gone on to a higher level of consciousness, where we will all go eventually and be reunited.
