Can I Join the Navy If…?
Question by MMD: Can I join the Navy if…?
Can I join the Navy if…..?
I attempted suicide at 16 years old and was admitted into a “behavioral health” hospital (it was a locked psych hospital called Foundations Behavioral Health Hospital”) and was an out-patient at Horsham Clinic. I am on Lexapro as an anti-depressant and Concerta for ADHD. It is possible I am bi-polar (not yet diagnosed, in the process of talking to therapist and psychiatrist. My moms twin brother was bi-polar.) PLEASE let me know if there is anyway I can ‘block’ this or have it not show up in background checks. Is it possible I can still join the Navy/get a ROTC scholarship?
Is there anyway I can get this blocked from my record? My dad is currently a Navy Captain and a commanding officer of a base in NJ. Good family friends of ours was the XO of the Univ. of Florida base (I think thats the name if the school). We have a lot of connections to the military, Navy in particular. Could I use that to my advantage? Im only 16, Im a girl and I plan on majoring in Civil Engineering; I know the Navy is looking for that type of thing. Can I somehow exsponge (sp) this from my record?
