Question by Psycho Wing: Are these politicians fake christians?
I’m not the biggest fan of religion, but I have to say that I am sick of religious politicians, namely republicans. They use christianity to gather support from people who share their faith and then commit contradictory actions. I will start with Michele Bachmann. She owns a “Christian Counseling” center that has been accused by various sources of using conversion therapy to turn homosexuals into heterosexuals. What happened to the christian ideal of accepting and loving one another? I know there are a lot of christians who label homosexuality as a sin, but the way I see it is if they’re not harming or inconveniencing anyone, then leave them to it. Just love and accept them as christianity dictates.

Now my second problem concerns both Michele Bachmann and Christine O’donnell since they reacted in the same way. Both of these women are republicans that have been in the media’s eye a lot this week. They we’re both asked to elaborate on their position concerning gay marriage since they are both active participants in politics. Both individuals refused to answer the question. Its obvious that they did not answer because it would have been detrimental to their current ambitions. Treating gay individuals as second class citizens is not as popular as it used to be. Now mind you, the interviewers were well within their rights to ask this question since both of these women are trying to pursuit a political agenda while gay marriage is a big topic. So with that I ask, can one consider them self a true christian if they are willing to abandon their religion when it becomes inconvenient?

If they were true christians, they would have had the courage to answer the question despite popular opinion because they honestly and truly believed that they were right. At least in this scenario, I could commend them for having the bravery to stick with their beliefs while disregarding the comments of those who will disagree. So now I would like to know what you guys think. Are they real christians or are they only people who don the flag christianity to further their own agenda?

P.S. I’m not a sexist and I’m not picking on women. It just so happens that these 2 individuals are women and happened to be in current events. This question applies to any politician who does the aforementioned. All constructive answers are welcomed and all trash will be ignored. Ty : )

I think politicians will latch on to whatever they feel people want to hear so they can get elected. Michelle may be a Christian but you are suppose to vote for how they will run the country. Many so-called conservative Christian politicians get corrupt. Maybe they are ineffective Christians. People vote for them because they want someone with high moral standing to run or influence where we are going in this country.
