Does This Sound Like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?

Question by Girl Esperanza: Does this sound like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?
One of my former co-workers (she is the daughter of a very important person in the community) basically verbally bullied me all the time she worked there. Because she was the daughter of a VIP, my concerns about her behavior fell on deaf ears. She resigned about a year ago and became a felon and a drug addict; however, I still have horrible flashbacks and awful nightmares about her. I have tried extensive counseling and medication, which has eased the frequency of the flashbacks, but not the intensity of them. After she resigned, my supervisor then apologized to me about her behavior, but she also says these flashbacks are “all in my head”. I can’t control them; they hit me like a thief in the night – sometimes at work and sometimes at home. Sometimes I feel like I’m screaming inside and no one hears me. Sometimes the flashbacks of her are so bad that I contemplate suicide (and the other day I almost went through with it). Like I said earlier, they are less frequent, but no less intense when they do hit. Why do I still fear her, when there is no chance she will work for our company again? She scared me then, and she still scares me now.

Who cares what it sounds like…if you came close to harming yourself you need to contact the person/place you got the “extensive counseling” and bring them up to date immediately, or a least your own doctor. Like right now! Start with telling them that, and if you had a plan tell them of it in detail…they will pay attention to that. Now!
