Question by Darry: Can anyone give me some ideas for a research paper?
Its for my 12th grade English class…I need to find sources on the topic and conduct an interview with someone knowledgeable on the topic. Anyone have some ideas? thanks!

Why don’t you do a research paper on “Career Counseling.” I’m sure your high school has a career counselor that you can interview. When you’re a senior in high school; you’re at a critical age with your career choices. Is college for you or do you want to go to a technical school or no school at all. Your career counselor at your high school is educated to help you with this decision.

If you’re thinking about college then you probably need help in choosing a major. You may also need help in deciding if you want to go to a community college {two year college} or a 4 year university. You have to decide if you want to live at home with your parents or go away to college. All these decisions can effect your career.

Also, a major factor to consider is the cost of your education. You may find it necessary to stay at home and commute because of your financial situation. You can look into financial aid that you may qualify for that would help pay for your tuition and fees. The U. S. Department of Education offers financial aid to college students and it’s called “FAFSA.” They have a website for you to research and this will give you some sources.

You can research a variety of community colleges and universities and they all have websites that you can use for sources. They all have a homepage on-line for more sources.

Finally, when you do the research and find all these sources; you can use this information to help you conduct an interview with your school’s academic counselor or they may have a career counselor. That’s there job.
