Need a Fresh Take on Life? Books, Advice, Ideas on What to Do?

Question by To-Many-Questions: Need a fresh take on life? Books, advice, ideas on what to do?
I’m a young community college student who recently lost her mom and have fallen into a terrible depression. I’ve been wanting to move out and find myself for a while but with my mom gone I feel compelled to stay to help my dad and lil bro. I’m failing all my classes and am getting angrier and more depressed each day. I’ve already decided to take the next semester off but don’t know where to go from there. Any books on finding yourself or advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
Please no preachy god stuff – just down to earth real people. I have my own Gods and don’t need a conversion thankyouverymuch.

I would recommend any books by John Green (especially The Fault in Our Stars) or the Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss. These books, have made me into the person I am today. I can honestly say that if I had not read John Greens books and the Republic Commando series, I would be a very very different person. Also you should ask your local librarian. Librarians are so helpful, yet so under-appreciated. I’m sorry about your mum. Your job right now is to survive the pain, not to deal with it. just do whatever you have to do to get through the pain of loss.

Best Wishes,
Golden
