Is the Torah the Same as the Old Testament? or Did They Change Some Things?

Question by Crikey a Wild Ski Bum: is the Torah the same as the Old Testament? Or did they change some things?
I never really hear about Jews having to deal with the “kill gays with stones” or “beat your children” or “don’t wear polyester under penalty of death” parts.

Are those not in the Torah? If they are, how do Jews explain those away?

The Torah is the same as the OT, except they exlude a couple books such as Psalms and I think Proverbs.

Also, I ask the very same question about how Jews explain those verses. For if they still believe in the OT, wouldn’t they still follow the same laws? For its only until lthe NT, that I believe starts teaching that those OT laws don’t always apply to us anymore…
