Question by Luis S: 2 days ago I had a death in the family question about absent days from work due to this and pay.?
There was a death in my family (grandfather) two days ago, Im here at work now so this question isn’t for me but I did hear that some places of work do some kind of grievance days off payed if someone in your immediate family dies….My two aunts that lived with my Gfather for years & years and took care of him through these hard times are not handling it good at all…like I said I heard there was grievance plan or something like that…………..Does any one know any info about this? or how I would go about asking my job since they are family and we all work at the same place?

If you work for a company with a grief plan you would know about it. it is in the written policy. Small businesses do not have policies. They grant time when the circumstances arise.
You can help your aunts after work. You do not have to have days off for them. You are obviously okay. Also, this is a grandparent, not a parent, child or spouse which is what the grief time is usually reserved for. You get a funeral day for the rest of the relatives.
