Hmmmm… not sure “produce toxins” is precisely the correct term. You liver is among the most critical “detox” organs. It’s where you break down toxins to render them inert so you can excrete them.

Stated as simply as possible, toxins are broken down in 2-phase system (“first pass” and “second pass.”) First pass detox can sometimes generate more dangerous molecules in the interim before second pass detox takes place. When the liver is not functioning properly, these interim products can linger and cause problems.

Diseases that cause the liver to function poorly? Probably the top 4 would include:
– NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis or “fatty liver”)
– Cirrhosis
– Hepatitis
– Liver cancer
