Child Bereavement Charity Ashes Golf Day – Sky Sports News
Child Bereavement Charity Ashes Golf Day – Sky Sports News – The Child Bereavement Charity provides support and information to all affected by the death of a baby or child or when a child is bereaved and accessible training for the professionals who work with these families and children. The Ashes Golf Challenge was the brainchild of Sir Michael Parkinson who suggested the idea to Ricky Ponting over lunch in Australia last year. Sir Michael hosted the day and each of the 16 fourballs was headed by a current or former Ashes player. He and the Professional Cricketers’ Association produced an amazing line-up of cricketers, which included captain Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, James Anderson, Gladstone Small, John Emburey and Barry Richards. On the Australian team, captain Ricky Ponting was joined by Nathan Hauritz, Graham McKenzie, Ben Hilfenhaus, Marcus North, Jason Gillespie, Greg Blewett, Andrew McDonald and Shane Warne.
