Question by jj_700: Native English speaker, is the word “enjoy” used here normally?
The following is part of a comment by a politician whose co-worker’s child passed away. Is the way he uses the term “enjoy” normal?
I looked it up and couldn’t find the usage.
“…Every child is precious and irreplaceable. And the death of a child is an unbearable sorrow that no parents should ever have to enjoy. Politics can sometimes divide us. But there’s a common human bond that unites us in sympathy and compassion that time is trial, and in support for each other at times of grief…”

An unfortunate choice of word. “Experience” would have been better.
