What Will Counseling for Bulimia Be Like?

Question by Ignore this.: What will counseling for bulimia be like?
Okay, so I’ve had something that I guess could be classified as an eating disorder for about six months now. I’ve been eating about 800 calories a day and throwing up everything I eat and exercising twice a day. In total I’ve lost about 30 pounds. (I lost the weight in the first three months and then stopped losing weight.)

My parents found out that I was throwing up and they took the bathroom door away, thinking that would somehow solve the problem. And they grounded me. But it only made it worse. So I started just throwing up in my room in plastic bags and things like that. That’s really disgusting and pathetic, I know.

Anyway, they found out and now they are forcing me to go to counseling for it. I’m really scared because I don’t know what to expect. Also, I am embarrassed because I have a so-called “eating disorder” and I’m not even skinny! I’m really chubby and I’m scared the therapist won’t take me seriously. I am 5’5″ and weight about 135.

What will counseling be like and what are they going to do to help?

Counselling is AMAZING, they help you with everything+solve anything. I’m 14years old+i have GAD which is generalized anxiety disorder were I can’t stop worrying, and they have helped me so so much. They don’t judge you on your apperance or anything, counselling is also confidencial, you should defo try it, and solve your problems!
good luck xo.
