I’m Having Trouble Coping With the (Future) Death of My Parents. Please Help?

Question by Angela P: I’m having trouble coping with the (future) death of my parents. Please help?
Alright, so please forgive me for the clingy “parents” questions i’ve been asking, but I’m going through one of those ever-so-wonderful life-changing stages and I’m very upset. My stage is going off to college and facing the reality of, well, real life. I love my parents dearly and it’s the first summer I’ve spent away from home. I have just been thinking of the great times we’ve had. Starting with reading with my mom, playing “aliens” with my dad, soccer, the cuddles, unconditional love, all the way up to driver’s ed, and shaping me into a young woman. I just spent a day shopping and going to the movies with my dad, and it hurts me so bad knowing they’ll die someday. I love him more than life itself! I don’t have any siblings so it makes things worse. My very happiness is them- from spending time with them to paying my tuition, they’re my everything and the reason i’m so lucky. How do I cope with the eventual and final goodbye? Sorry for sounding nuts, but this is killing me! Thanks!

Well, they aren’t dead yet, so make the most of it. When it comes, then cope with it.
