Heroin which is also named as diacetylmorphine, diamorphine and morphine diacetate is a very addictive drug synthesized from morphine. Opium poppy is the main item of heroin. Afghanistan is believed to be top provider of heroin as there are many areas where opium poppy is cultivated. An addiction to heroin starts when a person first takes it for recreation. He or she continues taking it as a drug when found it enhancing his feelings or releives from certain conditions such as pain.

Users who become dependent on heroin for recreation do not intend to stop using and thus develop a strong addiction. The drug has to be used as injection or tablet and prescribed by a licensed doctor. Although it is an illegal item, there are some gangs of people who import it in a country and sell to addicts. The youngsters are the victim consumers in most places. They get addicted to heroin though a user who is already addicted. Then he or she takes them to the seller. As it is not cost effective the addicts always try to get money through illegal activities like stealing, robbery, blackmailing etc. In many cases heroin addiction seems to be a cause of big crimes in many areas.

Heroin addiction as a cause of corruption
Heroin addiction is always very bad to human beings. It creates many problems in families and societies. When many people from a community get addicted to heroin, it becomes disastrous to that society. Those addicts do anything, even big criminal activity, to generate money for purchasing this expensive drug. This causes a country’s peace to break down. Therefore the government of all countries have put a ban on importing this drug into a country without a valid license. A licensed importer can import this drug in a country with a valid reason that improves its humanity; not to destroy.
