My Son Has Been Called the “N” Word for the Past 2 Years at School by Numerous White Males?
Question by : My son has been called the “N” word for the past 2 years at school by numerous white males?
Apparently there are a bunch of white males who call the black students the “N” word and this year it got really bad. The school tried to convince him to “anonymously” give names so they could nip it in the bud. When he did that they said they couldn’t do anything until he gives names of witnesses, dates, times, locations etc.” He and some of his friends complied but the school only made phone calls to parents and “counseled” the students. One of the boys has said “the reason whites are called crackers is cuz we crack the whip on you “N’s”.
After the school confronted him he started harassing my son even more (he somehow found out my son reported him) and continued to call him the N word but also started calling him a snitch. Numerous other white male students started teasing my son about being a snitch too. My son is very strong, and initially wanted to beat the boy down but I advised him to go to the school for fear of how badly he might hurt the boy.
I have been back and forth on the phone with the school, been to meetings and I get the impression they want to sweep this under the rug because it’s the end of the year and they want to kick their feet up. After the school failed to adequately resolve/handle the situation I have been furious and frustrated and plan to notify the school board. Last week the boy continued with the N word, started talking trash about me,elbowed my son in the hall and continued with the snitch talk and teased him saying he wasn’t afraid of him and he knew my son wouldn’t do anything. Two days ago my son snapped and pummeled him in the face at the end of the day but was quickly pulled off.
Both boys got suspended for one day, and immediately after the fight my son said the boys eye was completely swollen. Today he went back to school and the boy (for some strange reason) has no bruises on his face. He is going around saying he beat my son up and talking more and more trash which is getting back to my son by half of the school. My son wants to fight the boy again now. What should I advise him to do?
