Do You Think This “Tombstone Memorial” Makes Sense or Is Appropriate? Thank You?

Question by VBabayan: Do you think this “tombstone memorial” makes sense or is appropriate? Thank you?
It reads –

NAME…….
date to date-

Memory of you is immortal
Grief for you is eternal
Children and Grandchildren grieving
(then translation is Russian)

This is for a friend of mine who is Russian and does not have that great a handle of the English launguage whos Grandfather died. The issue I have with the memorial piece lies within the first line, “Memory of you is immortal”. I have always took “mortal, and hence immortal, to have to do with the actual BODY. Like the ability of the BODY to either die (mortal) or never die (immortal). Is this use proper?
Am I wrong? What do you think? Or do you think it is just fine the way it is written? Any changes or alterations would be welcome if you have any slight changes.

I agree with you .I don’t like the use of the word immortal.Far better to use the word Abiding
